Surging Water Pump

I know this has been answered before; but I I don't know how to find it.

The 8-yr-old (I presume) OE water pump is surging when I use it. Why?

I think I've read on another web site that it means there is a leak in the line.  Is that the only possible answer?  If it is leaking somewhere, I can't see it at the pump or in the lines nearby.  There's no dripping inder either sink.  How else can I find one.

If it's my pump, that's good.  I'm about to replace it, anyway.

I got a new shurflow and it was doing the same thing.  there's a little allen screw in the back of it.  Had to use a mirror to see it.  If you adjust that one way or the other it stops the surging.I watched the Tiffin tech do it first time and needed to do it some more later and did it myself... easy
