Engine Low Pressure Lite Comes And Turns The Engine Off

We are currently in a towns of Everett  & Breezwood PA.  My low oil pressure red light came on the Silver Leaf & on the Dash. When the light oil symbol comes on the dash and stays on it turns off the engine.  I stopped and added oil until I could run the engine without the lights going crazy. Apparently I added too much oil because there is oil all over the back of the motorhome. I know what you are thinking -- How could you add too much oil -- the last time I checked the oil I left the dip stick at some gas station . Even with too much oil the Silver Leaf and the dash will for two or three seconds low oil pressure, but then indicates nearer.
 Any ideas, we live in San Diego and we are in Pennsylvania.  Does anyone know a mechanic in ether of the two towns that I could contact

Any comments would be appreciated .

I broke down and was towed to Weavers about 4 years ago. Eventually found and fixed the issue but didn't set any speed records doing it.

Heavy wire from the ignition/ starter to the engine became unattached , dropped down and wore through the outer sheath causing it to stop and start intermittently. Lost power coming down 7 mountains  pass near State College.

The light has nothing to do with oil level. It looks at oil pressure only.  A low oil level can cause low pressure since there is no oil to pump. You either  have a bad sensor or low oil pressure. You need to have it looked at before any  amount of serious driving. Engines are expensive.

The oil pressure on the dash gauge is consistent at about 25 pounds ---- Do I have the ability to monitior oil oressure on my Silver Leaf

Thank You for the information. We are in Charlottesville VA, and will be looking for a diesel shop to look at our situation.
Anybody has ideas about a garage to recommend please do so--
