Front wheel beering grease lube hub cap came off

Hi, we have a 2000 magna and when we stop at a camp ground today the pass side tire and rim had gear oil that was thround out of lube hole as the fill plug came off, only took about 2 once of gear oil to fill back to full. Just wounder to find a new plug,i found the old one inside of trim and put back in. Were on the  coast of fla near panama beach.I wonder if the gear oil could get to the disc break pads, thanks Charles 5886
