When checking the fluid level, could someone confirm the positions the slides need to be in, to do the measurement? I think it might be bedroom out, kitchen in -- which I believe will produce the maximum level.

The decal on top of my HWH sump states that all cylinders must be retracted before verifying the oil level. I recommend you bring both slides in.

That's the way the CC tech checked ours at the last rally. Bedroom out, kitchen in.

But I believe the mechanics of the slides, then require the bedroom slide to be OUT for that cylinder to RETRACT, unlike the kitchen slide where the cylinder is retracted when the slide is IN. How they would expect people to know that, is anybody's guess.

The consensus seems to be bedroom out, kitchen in. We all need to relabel the sump with more known terms!

Interesting situation --who woulda thunk. For what it's worth, I sent HWH an email and explained the situation. I'll let you know their reply, if any.

Do you know if anyone asked CC?

That is what the factory told me. Bed slide out, Kitchen slide in.

Herb, et.al.:

I got a call today from HWH in response to my email on the slide in/out question.
He said that to check the fluid level, the Bedroom slide should be in and the Galley slide out. Now, here is the kicker, this procedure is applicable to my coach which he determined to have four cylinders forward. The way you can tell is the four cylinder ones do not have any visable supports when the slide is extended.
I believe from his comments, that the procedure my be different for other types of slide configurations. HWH appears to be quite responsive, hence I would recommend you contact them at their website. I think it was hwhcorp.com. I found it by typing hwh in google.
Hope this helps and I agree that CC should address this in their manuals and/or the box of stuff included with each coach.

Happy New Year
