Our 04 Allure had a problem with the deadbolt. The bolt would partially slide into the jamb/locked position, and that would make it so we could not open the door from the outside. (Yep, first time it happened we climbed in the drivers toll window. And of course, were blocking one of the dump stations at Denali National Park!)
From the inside, I could manually slide and hold the deadbolt lever to the open position, allowing the door to open. We tested several times, with me on the inside, and about 70% of the time the bolt would shift enough to block the door opening.
Taking the panel of the door, I found a "C" clamp had broken off, and caused the dead bolt to move freely. We jury rigged a small bungee cord to the handle of the deadbolt, that kept it in the 'open/unlocked' position. Finished our trip that way, until we could get replacement parts. We just used the door lock, no dead bolt, as our way of locking the door. And, not great for security, but we also always had our Toad key with us, the basement key (to get the ladder), and left the toll window unlocked too. (Usually in camp, we'd have the front screen over the windshield and windows, so it was not obvious that it was in the unlocked position.)
Just sharing this info in this thread, in case it helps anyone in the future.
Best to you on your repair!
