2007 Inspire dash air/fan controller

Does anyone know where the pressure switch & relay are located in the AC system which signal the ECM to vary the fan speed?

The receiver/drier has either a trinary or binary switch installed for the purpose of managing head pressure.

Hi Wayne,

My pressure switch is located between the entry steps and the generator under the coach. If you open the generator slide all the way you should be able to poke your head in just left of the generator and look left behind the fiberglass panel. This switch wires directly to the ECM to control the fan speed when the AC requires cooling. No relay here except for the hydraulic fan controller mounted on the fan shroud at the rear of the coach.

The relay that operates the compressor clutch is in the electrical section below the driver on the left side of the coach. I believe mine is the furthest relay towards the front of the coach. It should be labeled. You should be able to check voltage here to see if the pressure switch is calling for the compressor to operate.

What kind of problem are you having?

Replaced my fan controller but fan still runs continuously on high. The schematic shows that the AC pressure sw. Operates a relay which sends a signal to the ECM when the AC needs high speed fan. I'm thinking maybe a problem with the relay or the pressure switch (closed all the time). AC is presently inoperative, I believe it needs a new compressor. Thanks for taking an interest in my problem.

Wayne,

You might want to check that the ground connection at the fan controller has a good ground. Check it with a Ohm meter. I believe its the black wire but you should confirm that. I've heard of problems in this area and it will cause the fan to run on high.

Good luck,

Barney

Do you know if that relay that operates the compressor clutch is specifically for that clutch or is it a multi use relay? My clutch stays activated even with my dash settings off A/C. I thought it might be a stuck relay but I can't seem to locate a specific relay.

Barney;

No, the pos. and neg. are both good at the controller. I'm thinking that the ECM is getting the signal that the AC is always on. That is why I need to find that relay. If you look at the Inspire (cat) drawing or the Evans AC drawing you will see the relay which is activated by the pressure switch.

Wayne,

I have the same drawing but it doesn't match what I have in my coach. The wire colors and numbers do not match. I have a picture that I will email you showing the location of my AC relay.
