Good morning all...

My name is Dean Ansley and I have just joined the group. I have the purchase of a CC as a brand on my short list.{ Looking at the 04 Alure...love the others but budgets ya know!} and wanted to see what the owners have to say and get a feel for the product. I like it, my wife likes it, and now for the final check!

I live in Southern CA and have shopped dealers all over looking for the most agressive in pricing...and suggestions as to were to buy would be very usefull.

Regards,
Dean

Dean,

I won't buy a Country Coach from anyone but Bruce and Linda Hauser at Guaranty RV in Indio, CA, their number is 760-863-1810.

I met a group of 4 CC owners on the road last year. All were thinking about new coaches. Two were on their second CC. All said they would not buy a CC without taking factory delivery and staying in the area for at least two weeks while working out the bugs. Advice I wish someone had given us. Other than that, an experienced sales person with some influence over their service department is a must. And this is the short version of our advice! Doug Allure 30929

Ever consider buying a 2-3 year old used CC? You do not take a beating on the initial depreciation and the original owner has all the headaches of getting the bugs worked out. This is what we did.
Country Coach has been great working with us on a few problems and helping me understand better all the complex and intergrated systems. I am truly amazed at their willingless to provide assistance. Even as a second owner. The remaining warranties tranfer completely.

Do your home work and enjoy....

Dean: Unless your dealer is completely equipped and skilled, buy from them but take factory delivery. Stay for a couple of weeks, drive around, come back. If you can get past the first few weeks of brain damage and still be happy, the coach will be your friend. If you buy from a low-ball dealer who knows little about the beast, you are in for a few months of hell.

This advise fits all new motor homes.

Hi Laryy & Dean,

I had to laugh to laugh about the "low ball dealer" comment. Sounds like Mike Thompson's RV here in the southern California area.
Very good advice on taking a factory delivery. Our plan was to do the that with our '03 Intrigue. We picked our rig up on a Monday and stayed at the factory for 3 days. Checking things out, etc. Then we went to the Oregon coast for a couple of weeks. We found a few minor things that needed to be taken care. We then went back to the factory to take care of those items.
The time spent allowed my wife to decorate the m/h as she wanted and gave me time to learn the "workings" of the coach. Any questions I had I wrote down and asked the techs upon our return to Junction City.

Time well spent,

Mark, '03 Intrigue, #11625

Advice I wish someone had given us.
The original owner of our '98 Intrigue took factory delivery. One of the reasons he did so was to ensure that the tires were properly inflated for the actual load on them from the git-go ... and to ensure that the tires weren't run over their 75mph sustained speed rating, as is sometimes reportedly done during the factory-to-dealership delivery process.

Dean,

Just purchased an 01' Intirgue CC in August 03 and we love it. You will have to find a dealer with the right coach is the best advise I can give you. Then make sure was it was well maintained by the privious owner. Our Dealer sold and service the CC we purchased.
This makes the third CC for our previous owner. We were lucky to find a dealer and deal we could afford. It took us 14 months to find a dealer and coach.

Dean,

Seems like you have the quality advice you requested and are poised to buy new. After lurking on several boards for a year plus, we progressed from thinking buying new to buying used upper end models we otherwise could not afford. We were also convinced that CC was the brand.

Our experience of buying a 95 Magna which someone else had used little but completely debugged was great and still is two years later.

Not having time to stay at the factory or ferrying the rig back to a dealer repetitively, slightly used got us a unit that has been debugged, defects that have already shown themselves, more standard features, and perhaps add on equipment that is deeply discounted.
Because we bought 7 years old, depreciation is not as great a factor since 50% plus was done and the original price not as high as today's prices.

The chassis will last my lifetime, the house body will require fixing. Mostly due to our mishaps. I will want to change units before I need to change units.

Now, if I would only quit this working life and have time to use it more things would be even better.

Happy Purchasing
Dean

I bought at Holland in San Diego. I like Guarantee and met with Bruce but ultimately decided on Holland because I lived closer to them and they had a full-time year-round service department to help work out the bugs. They were extremely helpful with this process. I worked with Dean at Holland. Barry also is very helpful and knows the CC line. He is usually the Holland rep at the rallies.

Guarantee in Palm Springs shuts down or reduces operations for part of the year. In the past they basically had a sales lot
