slidding out the refrigerator to access the back

We think we have a leak behind the refrigerator near the ice maker and am wondering if there are any "tricks" to scooting out the frig?

Thanks for any advise.

2 people, one outside and one inside.
have something same height as refrigerator to support the fridge when it's removed like a dolly. something to protect the floor.

Our leak was the icemaker line dried out and cracked. We just plugged the line and removed the icemaker. Gave us more freezer space.

If it is the icemaker line, it can be replaced without removing the refrigerator. Remove the icemaker tape a string on the water line remove the line from the outside panel and replace the water hose and reinstall the icemaker. Fairly simple. Took me about 1/2 hour

Remove the doors to lighten
Remove the wood trim at the top

Lower the refrigerator by screwing the levelers down at the bottom Get a big strong friend

Slide the refrigerator out then lower it the 4" to the floor Slide it towards the front of the coach so that you get around it

Fix the water leak

Sell the coach, so you never have to lift the fridge back up into place.

Good luck, I had to do it 5 times in two days! I also know how to get the refrigerator out of the coach in case this doesn't cure you of working on your coach.

Great summary!!! Did it pretty much exactly with total success!!. I was wondering if we ever had to replace, how the heck would we get it out. Will keep you in mind should we need direction.

So what is your answer for getting the frig out??I have studied this going and coming and the only answer I can see is through the windshield!! By the way, there is one other option to stop the leak. Just disconnect the stupid ice maker!!

To all who want to know how to get the big refrigerators out of the coach:

Open the big window behind the drivers seat and rotate it up to it's highest position 90 degrees to the side of the coach. Get 4 more big strong guys, two cases of cold beer, and a blanket to lay over the sill plate of the window.

Use 3" movers straps under the fridge to pick it up, then rotate the bottom out through the window then down to the floor. You and your friends have about 30 minutes to drink the beer which by know should be very cold while the Refrigerator repairman silver solders and recharges the new compressor. Then it's time to do it over again.

One suggestion; don't let the friends drink all the beer before they put it back in. Make them wait until it is back in so they won't drink and run. Also, be very careful when you close the big flush glass window, if you don't line it up right you'll pinch the corner of the glass and it will shatter like mine did!

If you are not fortunate enough to have the big side window prepare to take out the windshield. More on that some other time.

One option is to take the doors off of the refrigerators, lay flat the passenger's seat or remove the seat. Then it should be able to go out the door. If not the next option is the front windshield will need to be removed.

Is the ice maker siliconed to side of refrig? I have a new ice maker I need to install.. I yanked on it a little but looks like its glued....

It has 2 screw mounting points. Loosen those and it lifts off.

I replaced the ice make in my coach and it was fairly easy. Don't remember if it was 2 or 4 screws that held it in place inside the freezer area. Good luck
