C13 Serpentine Belt

Yahoo Message Number: 107898
I have a 2006 Intrigue with C13 engine. Does anyone have the part number for the serpentine belt. I have the original Cat number but didn't have a cross reference at NAPA. I guess I could order one from CAT but would like to get one from a parts store. They said I could bring the original in and they could measure it but I'd rather not. The original still looks good after 10+ years.

Plan B: Get and install a new CAT belt, save the original as a breakdown spare. Cheap insurance you won't regret.

Dennis,

I have a Cummins so I can not help with the part number but, Lee has a good idea. You may also want to seal it in a kitchen "Foodsaver" clear vacuum bag to help preserve it. I do that with all my spare parts as these bags are very heavy and they protects the parts very well.

A few weeks ago some one was concerned about engine temps traveling from Phoenix to Flag staff. Well I made the same trip last Sunday and my Maximum temp was 190 degrees with my foot to the metal. The Ambient temp was about 92 degrees that Morning. Today I was traveling from Durango to Montrose going over the three 11000 ft passes and the temps got up to 195 degrees going over and Red Mountain passes. The ambient temp was about 73 degrees. I was mostly in 3rd and 4 th gears sunning close to 1900 rpm. The temps are still 10 to 15 degrees below the temps I had with the Sauer Danfoss controller. Now I use the Scientific Systems wax valve system. With the lower temps my oil pressure rarely drops below 40 lbs/ in. and the temp on the transmission really exceeds 190 degrees. So I'm a happy camper. Twi 11731 2004 Intrigue 42" ISL 400.

Heaven for bid my hydraulic pump quit. I had just retracted my front slides when the bed room slide quit. I called HWH and told them i was "stranded" and was connected to a tech with in 5 minutes. we did some test and found the fuse for the hydraulic pump control solenoid was blown. So scrounged around the RV park and found a replacement. But the rear side would still not retract even though the pump now worked. So I looked under the slide and noticed the ram was not there. So I went inside and extended the ram and after looking on the ground found the bolt that connected the ram to the room. Then I found my Loctite and reinstalled the bolt and the room worked perfectly. So I now have every thing back to normal.

Those guys at HWH are fantastic, just remember to use the word that you are "Stranded" and they will bend over back words to help you. It will help if you have a volt meter and some alligator jumper cables. 16 gauge is more than adequate. We used the jumper cable to by pass the solenoids , and the volt meter to trace voltages, only to discover one of the 5 amp fuse was blown that fed the master solenoid. It was meet that CC labeled the wires connecting and identifying the solenoids. The issue delayed me an 1 1/2 hours, but I learned so much about my coach and why HWH is such a great company. That's good to know about the fan controller. I'm having one installed by Bob Vincent the 10th of this month. I'm tired of fighting the high temperatures.

They are located in Moscow Iowa

They do leveling systems and slide outs. They have electric hookups in their parking lot. They are booked weeks in advance in the summer and sometimes can be difficult to reach but explain it's an emergency and maybe they can get a tech on the line asap.

HWH is the company that built hydraulic systems for CC and other manufacturers. They made level systems, that level the coach when parked, either using hydraulic jacks or using the air suspension systems, they make the system that controls the coach suspension as you drive. They make slide room systems of many types. Above floor, X slides, below floor systems with Hydraulic rams. They even made some systems that were electric in operation for slide rooms. Power Gear systems were used usually on the lower priced Inspire, Tribute and a few Allures. I have always had HWH systems on both my CC coaches. They are a fantastic company to work with in times of trouble and build a superior product. TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731

I too have had good luck with HWH. We were not stranded, so I waited for the return call. I had questions about my leveling system, and an intermittent problem with the slides not always going out.

The tech was very patient with me, and within a 5 minute conversation, we both concluded that I have Power Gear slides:)!

He answered my questions on the leveling system well, and wished me luck with the slide... Which seems to have been only a fleeting problem, as the last 5 months or so, they've worked well.

Best to all,

Smitty

Good Morning - speaking of temps, when I was driving home yesterday, the temps in the silver leaf were different than the temps on the dash gauges. The coolant temp never moved above 190 on the gauge, but on the digital display it ranged from 185-205 depending on the load.

Congrats Todd! Beth sent me some pix, the coach is gorgeous! With regards t temps, I suspected something was wrong on mine when I bought it, as my dash gauge (no fancy Silverleaf in my 98!) Always read hot but it didn't actually seem like it was overheating. The guys at Colton Truck swapped in a new gauge and sender and that fixed it. Maybe they were using upgraded instruments by the 2005 model year.

Thanks Dusty! I am going to schedule a full inspection at Colton Truck. Steve seems legit. In fact, this Coach has been at Colton truck for repairs.
