Leveling air bags loosing air??

Just wondering what is typical for the amount of air that is lost when parked for an extended period. If we leave the system active, the coach will loose air after 4-5 hours and then relevel. Is that common? Thanks for any info.

Laura..........There should be no air loss at all. If your coach is re-leveling, it means you have  small air leak somewhere in the suspension system.

When parked I hear my air pump run for a few seconds once every couple of days. I really don't pay any attention to it, it's hard to hear.

Another reason for re-leveling is temperature changes if the coach is in sun light. The sunny side bags can expand just enough to cause re-leveling, then contract as the sun moves off the coach, re-leveling again. In those cases I turn the active system re-leveling off . . . silence prevails. If you did this and coach stayed level over time, then no leaks. Easy way to check is with a level app on your phone. You do need to give all this time to confirm.

Two of my Favorite RV parks in Colorado have coarse gravel poured over valley river bottom land. Which means during monsoon season my tires will sink up to 3 inches over time. So I pull in, level the coach, put out the slides and re-level. As neither one of us like hearing a feeling the pump while we sleep we wait to the next morning to re level. This goes on for the first week or so. If you will look at your air tanks you may see a drop in system pressure, too. The coach usually drops from about 125 lbs to 110 lbs the first week and then maybe to 90 lbs a month later. As we don't want our coaching rock ing from side to side we add manual jacks near the dual axle to control the rocking. Some Affinities were equipped with two piston jacks to stabilize the rocking side to side. If you have an air bag leaking the pump will be running very often in the auto mode. Been a while I have chimed in, On our 99 Allure 40" This summer our Level Air Bags would drop completely over night rear axle only! We stayed on a level concrete lot at 6300 feet in Show Low Az. Funny could hear air leaking when coach was called to ride height then turn on Level System the air stopped! Again Coach did go to proper ride height the could re-level no Problem. Went to HWH Website and read and got lots lots of info. Funny thing we are back in Yuma temps are now in the low 100s while in Show Low temps were 20 or so degrees cooler. Thinking perhaps a bad seat on a check valve in the Soloniod manifold from HWH as this only happens on the rear Axle no Tag axle, Now parked here in Yuma the coach leveled on our gravel lot here with a downward lot pitch at the end rear axle and the problem has gone away! Also the Air tanks Gauge after several days does bleed down but the Coach is fine! Found a HWH Repair shop here from HWH Website Called Sun Bum RV Repair so when the temps get cooler may run the coach by them. Also will run the coach now and then and park at different spots to insure the system is holding air. Keep you posted Len. 99 Allure 30356.
