Just got new tires for our motorhome was wondering if I should get tire covers. How many have you use tires covers

I use them on a regular basis to prevent damage from the sun.

I use mine when I stay in camp for more the 3 Days. Most of the time I only need to put on 1 side.

I use them when parking for more than a week. Especially, in strong sun areas.
You can make some easy ones that don't require much work to put on. Like installing some snaps on the out/inside of the fenders and attaching some outside material (mesh). Then some weights at the bottom to keep them from blowing around.

Oil cloth works well, use a couple of grommets on the bottom front, which attach a bungee wrapped around the tire near the bottom. Jeanne made a set up for our rig.

If you bought Michelins its very important you keep your tires covered. I lost a set of 8 prematurely because of side wall cracking. Part of it could be contributed to our polluted atmosphere, other wise its all do the sun. TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731.

Paul at Les Schwab in JC, OR recommends 303 and tire covers for MH tires, especially Michelins.

303 is excellent for lots of surfaces. I buy by the gallon from Amazon. The seats on my boat look brand new. I only coat with 303 once per year.

Tire Screens are the best solution they keep off the sun and don't smother the tire. I used to use Vinyl tire covers but read that those can sometimes cause more damage than help, especially in hotter weather. I'm sure there is plenty out there on the topic... I don't exactly recall the details but it cause me to sell the vinyl tire covers and have screens made. They are lot easier to put on and take off as well

Perhaps.

Just put my second set of Michelin steer tires on. First set on for 6 years - no covers, no cracks.
