Thanks for the info. Is the North side the Free part of the BLM area? I saw that the La Posa LTVA on the South side requires a Permit that costs $40 for up to a 14 day limit. Just trying to figure out where to go.

Hi Craig

If you are coming from Parker Az. South on SR -95 to junction SR- 72, turn South on SR-95 for 17..7 miles. On your right side is Plomosa road it is only 1//2 mile long until it turns into Boyer Gap. If you are coming from Quartzsite on East Main Street and SR-95 it is just 5 miles on your left side. Hope this helps.

There are several free (14 day) areas - No Services: - Hi Jolly (~3 miles N on E side of Hwy 95) - Plomosa Road (~ 6 miles N on E side of Hwy 95) - Scaddan Wash (~3 miles E of I-10 exit 19 on S frontage road) - Road Runner (~ 5 miles S on W side of Hwy 95 (@ MM99)) - Dome Rock Road (~ 6 miles W on I-10 @ Dome Rock exit, on S frontage road)

Commercial water/dump station (also propane) are available ($10?) @ "Pit Stop" on N side of Quartzsite (E side of Hwy 95).

I've always stayed at Hi Jolly (nearby cell tower and waste transfer station, closer to town, less traffic congestion) or in the La Posa LTVA North Camping Area (includes water, dump station, trash facilities, possible walking distance to big show tent area).

Nothing wrong with Plomosa Road; its just a bit farther to town.

Maybe others can chime with opinions about the advantages/disadvantages of the other options.

Tom,

Thanks. Sounds like Polomosa Rd is the place to go. Further from town should be less crowded and quieter.

ALCON,

It looks like I'll be arriving at Quartzite on the 26th and leaving on the 29th. My first time there and I'd love to meet up with other CC'ers. But, the camp location has been described (in this email string) as being on the East side and on the west side of SR-95. Looking at a map link (http://www.google.com/maps/dir//40644-41126+Arizona+95,+Quartzsite,+AZ+85346/@33.7373548,-114.219165,16.17z/data=!4m8!4m7!1m0!1m5!1m1!1s0x80d15e603f42aaaf:0x592a3d3cfee7f123!2m2!1d-114.2170779!2d33.739161 ) , East Plomosa Rd. & West Plomosa Rd. are 0.7miles apart. Could someone who's been there before post a GPS location or could the first arriving coach post their camp's GPS location? Regardless, count me in. If I can find ya.
