Country Coach 3 or 4 Slides, Cant get your awning out with slide op

Hi all,

I have a 2003 Allure with 3 slides. I have own my coach for 3 years. I love it. Just like any coach, by any manufacture, there are always things that could be done better.
My coach came out of the factory with Zip Dee slide toppers, and Zip Dee patio awing. Zip Dee is a fine manufacture, and if lube correctly is the Rolex of Awnings.
One problem, with the slide room open, you can not open the patio awning. Which one would think would not be a problem. Well it is. It is not a good idea to leave the coach for any length of time with patio open.
I need some new fabric, and I noticed, that if I could get the slide topper roller tube down off the top of the slide, I could get the patio awning to clear.
I called zip dee, and talked to Jimmy, (good guy) he had a lot of knowledge and told me that zip dee never knew how country coach was going to install these awnings, but knew of the problem.
Jimmy relayed to the owner, and we went back, and forth with ideas, and measurements. We came up with something I can live with, and they felt comfortable making.
Bam !!! It works,

Zip Dees is going to keep the pattern on file for country coach 2005 and older with 3 or more slides. If you have one of theses, you can call Jimmy and order new canvas for the right slide room.
I know another way to solve this problem is to put an electric patio awning. Just seemed very expensive, and at this point in my life, I want less things that can go wrong, and want to keep things simple. (that goes for everything)

I'M GLAD YOU GUYS WORKED OUT THE ISSUE. I have an 04 Intrigue that came with Carefree and A&E awnings. But with all the issues I had CC install replacement ZIP DEEs over the years. First Step was replacing the topper window awnings of Carefree on the driver side. Then as the patio awning rake couldn't not be adjusted on A&E patio awning I had the topper only awning replaced on the passenger side with a topper/ window awning from Zip DEE. It really makes life so much easier when we are in hot weather. Later on when I couldn't get the plastic parts for the A&E door awning we went to Chicago and had Zip Dee install a door awning. I had also always been envious of Fore travel owners having the awning over the drivers side drivers window and one installed there also. So now I am ready for the A&E Dometic power awning to fail. And when it does I guess I'll have to tale advantage of your design, when I'll go back to a Zip Dee patio Awning, which I will much prefer. I added Zip Dee Head knocker rails to my former Allure to raise the support arms so I wouldn't bang my head. My first RV was a 34" Airstream TT. It was one of only two Airstreams with full length 29' patio awnings. The longest Patio awnings built by Zip Dee as of 2010. So I'm very familiar with Zip Dee having used them for close to 30 years and have to agree they are the best. TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731
