Battery disconnect

We have our coach parked in our newly constructed RV Port, no power yet but will eventually have solar power. I disconnect the chasis and domestic batteries and assume they will not discharge according to post someone made a while back. Going out the entry door a couple of days ago, I looked up at the inverter and it was on! So where is the power coming from?? It also showed the batteries at 64% full---I don't get it!Can one of you guys explain this?? Thanks!

Hi,

Generally speaking, (I'm leaving myself an out), The 12 VDC to the inverter, the engine ECM, and the tranny ECM are either wired directly from the battery terminals or at a point between the battery terminal and the battery cut off switches. The only way to effectively stop all parasitic drain from the battery banks would be to remove the batery terminal wires from the negative battery post. Depending on the equipment involved, removing the ground for an extended period Might cause some electronics to reset to a default programing.

Great question. I just emailed CC today about the very same thing. After I diconnect the batteries, the backlight on my shoreguard is still on. If I get a response from CC, I will post it here.
