Newbie has questions

Yahoo Message Number: 8200
As a new owner of a new Allure 36 (#31031)I have only three dozen questions. I'll continue to read old messages on this group to find answers, but a few are "pressing" issues that some kind soul might help me with:

First ... when we leave our coach for an hour or two, we use the key fob lock gizmo. Coach beeps, doors lock, red light flashes. All is cool. Upon return, we hit the "unlock" button, door unlocks and upon opening, steps descend .......

However..... if we do the same thing, leaving the coach unattended overnight, upon our return, no red light is on, the "unlock" button the fob does nothing, and after manually unlocking the door the steps do not descend. Yet, the house batteries are fully charged, coach starts up properly.... etc.

Question: Is there some electro-whatsit that shuts the whole DC system down if one pays no attention to it for more than X hours? or what else is happening to me?

That's the most pressing question at the moment.

By way of introduction..... we began recreational camping about 30 years ago with a station wagon and tent (1 year), pop-up camper trailer (5 years), class C mini-motorhome (7 years), live aboard long range cruising yacht (11 years), Class A motorhome - gas 30' (1 year), CC Allure 36' (1 week).... with a few dry spells in between.
Home in SW Florida and on San Juan Is., WA. I guess we are vagabonds.

Joe, Jan and I have our new 33' Allure (31038) for one week as well.
We have not had the issues with the key-fob entry that you have. We have left the coach for a couple of days and returned with the expected results. Hit the ky-fob, door unlocked and front interior lights went on. I can't guess what the issue is with yours but it sounds like an incorrect funtion. Call or email CC. They have been real helpful to me with my questions.

Hi Joe, We have an older coach, no key fob so no problem.
However, we do have this type of lock on our TOAD and I have experienced problems because the buttons are quite sensitive and if I put the keys and fob in my pocket while still close to the car sometimes one of the buttons will get activated by accident and unlock the car.

This may not be your problem but it is worth looking at.

Good luck

Our 36 Allure is 30929. The system stays on indefinitely. Ours did melt down and had to be rewired, but it is now functioning.
