Tire Pressure Gauge

Yahoo Message Number: 8223
We recently purchased a 2000 Magna Indulgence and I am puzzled about the difficult to reach and remove valve stem caps, and, because of the somewhat small wheel openings, the tool and method to check tire pressure. I just returned from NAPA with no success in trying to purchase a truck tire gauge that has a straight in and straight reverse fitting (to get to the inward facing valve extension on the outer duals). Any help for a source for the gauge and some kind of similar chuck fitting for a pressure hose would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Try Jon at Les Schwab, 800-257-8430. He had some straight tire guage/fill fitting that worked great.

At the last RV show in Pomona, CA, there were ALCOA Aluminum wheel, Rep's there and they had a large tire guage with a nice handle attached for $10.00. They work great for checking the air pressure for both types of valve fittings (Inwards/Outward). Used it many times with ease!

Alcoa makes a nice tire gauge that is easy to use for rear tires. I bought mine at the Asheville, NC FMCA rally last fall.

Use valve caps that have a valve within them on the inside duals.

Tom,

Go back to NAPA and order part #NTH90383, straight foot gauge for about 31.00, good to 160 lbs.

I have these and when I removed the air chuck after adding air it broke the threaded end off the valve stem. Now I have to have a new stem installed. I guess they are not as handy as I thought.

Thanks for the tire pressure gauge answers. I went to the Alcoa web site for Motorhomes and found the pressure gauge (180 deg. rev. angle - $20.32) and air chuck (180 deg. rev. angle 6" long - $7.99), plus tax, no shipping charge. Also good maintenance products available.
