Hello and help needed

Yahoo Message Number: 109344
We are Jeff and Mary Everest with a, new to us, 2007 Country Coach Integra. We have had another coach for the last ten years or so. We have taken many week and month long trips, taken a rig to Alaska twice and have been snowbirding from Washington to Arizona for seven or eight years.
We appreciate the substantial quality of the CC but realize we have a lot to learn about all the systems in this coach.
I actually do try to read the owners manuals when something comes up. But I am only a half-assed mechanic.
Anyone have experience with the following first two things that happened to us?

The Satellite (Tracstar) antenna was coming on and searching at regular intervals. The readout was," ANT COMM ERROR" and would not respond to any button pushed. I unplugged the readout box itself and it seems to have stopped it, but any idea where the power can be shut off to this unit?

The Braun motorized air antenna would not retract fully and we lost the antenna. The red light indicates it is still in the raised position after pressing the "travel" button to no avail.
Is there a certain sequence to take when lowering the antenna? Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

The only way I know of to turn off the TracStar is to switch the fuse off on the fuse panel. We actually leave ours off when the coach is moving and when we are storing the coach. It really helps keep the Directv boxes from dying prematurely.

The fuse also switches off the TV's

Thanks Marta,

You are right, I found that I have a circuit breaker instead of a fuse for the TV/Audio complex. That's a good idea to just shut it down when not using because I may not have heard it operating while we were traveling.

I mistakenly wrote that my coach was an Integra. I have an Intrigue 530 coach # 12108.

Hi Hoove : We have a 2007 Intrigue Ovation. We do not use the tracstart because it doesn't work with HD Direct TV. The previous owner of our coach had installed an RF Mogul Satellite Antenna on the coach. If you pull the Tracstar Box out (a few screws) there's an RJ45 Cable (like a phone cable) in the back of the box. Disconnect it and that will solve the problem of the satellite hunting endlessly. From reading other forum posts it looks like Direct TV and Dish Network no longer will work with the older tracstar systems. If I'm incorrect, someone please let me know.

We have the older Tracstar system and it works with Direct TV. We have HDTV's in our coach, but Tracstar will not give an HD picture; it is the same resolution we used to get before HD came along. To get an HD picture, you either need to use the local channels antenna or for satellite reception, need to replace the antenna. If we watched more TV, I would have purchased a Winegard Trav'ler a few years ago and maybe still will. It just seems like a lot of money to spend for something not used very often. (It is possible that the latest HD receivers are not compatible with the non HD signal format, but suspect that is not the case in that there are a lot of non HD satellite channels.)

Jim,

Does that "TRACSTAR" box having writing on it saying "Tracstar" or should I just look for some black box that has a phone cord type sticking out of it and remove it? Also is it in the area over the entry door or is it behind all the components in that cabinet? Thanks

Dave
