Inverter #2 offline

Yahoo Message Number: 109404

My second inverter (Xantrex Prosine 3.0) has gone off-line after being left on for a week. We have tried a reset by physically disconnecting all power from the inverter. It appeared to come back on-line for a short while but went back off-line with the same error. Attached are copies of the errors. Any suggestions on next steps? Thanks!

Refresh the connections wit ha good cleaner. If that does not work swap the cable between inverters and see if the fault moves, if so it is in the inverter.

Thanks for the suggestion! We ended up pulling it out and opening. Lots of black burnt marks on the boards. Looks like this one is done! Now need to decide whether to find a rebuilt replacement or change the entire system for newer tech. Suggestions? Thanks!

So you opened up the Inverter and found the burnt boards in there? I seem to remember that you have Prosine, if that's correct I would upgrade to Magnum inverters. Being that the magnum inverters can be repaired if something like this ever happens again versus you boat anchor you have now is why I'd choose Magnum.

If you want to save some cash, I can give you options... My first option is buy re-manned units from Magnum, yes they are re-built at the factory and they come with a 1-year factory warranty versus 3 year when buying new. That's a big savings right there, especially since you have 2 (almost a 2 fer deal)

A second option is to re-wire as necessary to only use 1 Inverter.

Of course the simplest is to buy a Prosine and plop it in!

Good luck, email me or respond and I'll help you any way I can.

I just installed a magnum hybrid. It puts out 3k and the hybrid function helps with week shore power. Silverleaf now has there software workable with a magnum rvc bridge

Thanks for the suggestion. I like the hybrid aspect for those sites with poor power. However it would likely I also replace the other inverter to keep everything compatible.

Anyone know of a good source for Prosine 3.0 3,000 watt?

Thanks!

I would just use a magnum for a second to keep controls simple and the learning curve would be cut in half..You can bridge controls. Unless your running an ac on inverter I cant see how you would need two.

Steve ,

The reason you have two inverters is that each one will run half the loads in your coach. a single inverter wont power your coach completely and you cant just replace one and bridge them.
I would suggest replacing them with magnums and there will need to be some upgrades to your silverleaf system done at the same time.
Silverleaf has done a great job of modernizing the upgrades and making the easier to install as well as integrating lots of different systems into theirs.
I would call Dale at Silverleaf or if you want I would be happy to answer any other questions.
Thanks Eric

I suspect your inverter is working, but the comm link or Silverleaf is the issue. Remove the power from the silverleaf for a few seconds and restore power. The issue will probably go away.

We power cycled everything a few times. The fault clears then returns within a minute.
