Hurricane Heater Electrical Question - Almost Ther...

Most likely those thermostats do not control the Hurricane. CC typically used separate thermostats. Depending on the control system used in the coach you may have to turn the Hurricane switch on and also the heater switch and then use the probably 2 separate thermostats for the Hurricane.

Very interesting. I plan on going back on the roof to see if any of the other roof A/C units have the control board with dip switches. The front A/C didn't have one, which is why I went to the middle roof A/C which had the dip switches. I will see if the rear A/C unit also has a control board with dip switches. I recall hearing the the prior owner recently replaced the rear A/C unit. Maybe the tech simply didn't switch the Furnace dip switch to 'on' if it indeed has the control board.

Thanks!

I think you are on the right track with the ac units and dip switches. We have a 2002 Magna we just bought which required replacement of the ac units (Dometic) and since we had the "old style" thermostat the ac units needed a compatible circuit board or replace the Thermostat. We replaced the thermostat and all is well. I had to have the "furnace" dip switch to "on" on both ac units. Now as to get the hurricane to be dependable that's another story. Igniter, orfice, filters, combustion fan, and now waiting on a compressor which will be here tomorrow. I'll get this thing yet......

On our 2000 Magna, we still have the old Dometics with heat pumps and a Webasto. And the five button thermostat. We replaced one Dometic last summer with the identical heat pump equipped unit; but we had to change out a circuit board to remain compatible with the five button system. And the five button thermostat needs to be set to "furnace" in order for the Webasto to function. And both zones need to be set to "furnace" in order for the Webasto to work. The other choice is heat pump and if that's what you want you need to have both zones set to heat pump, not furnace.

If you have three dometics, you probably have three zones and then all three would need to be set to "furnace".

For what its worth and your mileage may vary.
