Freedom 25

In my 2000 Magna, I currently have a Heart Interface Freedom Model 25 inverter with a Magnum Energy Smart Battery Combiner and the equivalent, to Freedom 458, remote panel. It appears the inverter has died.
The fan started making noise about 10 days ago, prior to our trip home from Tucson, AZ to Evergreen, CO. After returning home on Saturday, 4/20/2019, it stopped making noise but now I don't have any 120v AC registering at my front panel. As I recall, the 120v AC passes through the inverter.

I would like a recommendation as to whether I should look to having the existing inverter repaired or replace it. I'm leaning toward replacement since it is 20 years old. I believe the Freedom Model 25 is a modified sine wave and although it hasn't given me any problems, I may want to replace with a pure sine wave. I have replaced the RV refrigerator with a residential Samsung about two years ago. My concern is space in the passenger side rear compartment and need for new remote panel and the current Magnum Energy Smart Battery Combiner.

Please let me know if you have changed out this particular inverter and what you replaced it with.
Thanks,
Don Clemens

Magnum MS2012 is a great choice for pure sine OR a ME2012 (modified sine) is also a great choice and saves money, the remote cable doesn't need to be changed (unless any damage to existing) and the remote is the same size as your existing. The remote part number is ME-RC50.

I'm a magnum dealer / authorized repair facility.

If you'd like to talk I'd be more than happy to answer any questions.

I understand the thought process. Put money into attempting to fix a few decade old unit, that's Modified Wave. Or, put money into a new Inverter/Charger.

We went with he MS2812, as we wanted PSW for other electronics in our coach. the MS2012 would also be a more direct replacement power wise for your existing unit.

If you boon dock often, and run the generator for Bulk/Absorb charging, the MS2812 does have up to 125A, vs 100A in the MS2012, Charging capability. So if you have a battery that can handle the higher input of amps, like a Lifeline, then the MS2812 would give you some added power capacity (If needed.), as well as potential faster charging.

I'm not up on the Victon(SP?) Inverter/Chargers, but they have as many positive reviews as the Magnum's do. So a comparison of their product to the Magnum is worth the time:)!

Best to you,
