LED light conversion

I have a 1994 Magna, 34 FT (5131) that I have owned since 2002.
Last year I converted all my florescent lights to LEDs using LEDs on tape strips. I also converted my Thinlite door light to LEDs using the waterpropf LEDs on strip tape . Everything was working great.
During our recent CCI New Orleans rally I noticed the LED door light was vary dim. I didn't remember them being so dim.
On our return to home base I took the door light down with the intent to add more LED strips. Using LEDs from the original tape reel, I added 2 additional LED strips to the light.. When I tested the light, the newly added LED strips were very bright, however all the original LEDs were very dim.
I can only conclude that the outdoor location of the door lights exposed then to strong UV from the sunlight and that degraded the LEDs. Never had any information that this could be an issue.
I replaced the LED strips in the door light and it is now working well. I have ordered a UV blocking film from Edmunds and will install it behind the light lens when it arrives. Will see if that helps.
Anyone had any similar LED issues? I see some folks have installed LEDs to the curb lights. They are also exploded to sunlight and may have a issue over time. Just a thought. Any comments would be appreciated.

Hi Jim, good to see you at the CCI rally in New Orleans. I hope you enjoy the April CCI eNews coming out in a few days. Lots of NOLA pictures. Anyway, I put In 4 LED curb lights over a year ago, but I replaced the whole unit with items I got on Amazon. I haven't noticed any deterioration. I have to monitor more closely and let you know if anything changes. I could get you the unit info if you want.

I used water proof led's also the heat from the leds turns the clear water proof covering yellow.
When I changed the next lights over to leds used only NON water proof, still bright after 2 years.
