Auto generator start

Yahoo Message Number: 112387
We have the Silverleaf system. We have set the autostart. The generator auto starts but never stops. It is my understanding that it should stop either when the batteries are fully charged or run time which is set at 4 hours. Am I thinking correctly?

Also, I can't change the run time. I try to but it will always change back to 240 minutes. Shouldn't I be able to change this?

Mine is set for 30 amps input, on at 60% SOC (State of Charge), charge rate of 70%, off at 99% SOC. I set the quiet hours to start at 2100 hrs. and stop at 2100 so it's not a factor. You can set for Absorption Charge as the shutdown point if you want it to cycle less during heavy electrical use. I have never set a specific length of operation.

Jeff: Do you have a silverleaf system? I can't see anywhere to put in the parameters that you are suggesting.

Thanks,

I have a Cat generator. I don't know if it is any better or worse than Oman. Anyway, what settings in Silverleaf do you use to start and stop the generator?

I have a Magnum inverter. I'm wondering if the Magnum AGS module would work any better than Silverleaf. I would really like my generator to shut down after charging the batteries and then start back up when needed. Just peace of mind if I'm away for more than a day. We fulltime and would like to take extended trips and not have to worry about losing power to the coach.

Dennis I have a Trace panel above the entry door, and Silverleaf screen on the dash next to the Panasonic rearview screen. I do all inverter and generator controls on the Trace panel. Sorry if that's not the way you're configured. I hope you find a solution soon. Safe travels.
