Anyone due to visit a salvage yard??

Yahoo Message Number: 114156
All,

(Also posted on iRV2 forums)

2005 Country Coach 430 Allure 430 - now resident in the UK - and a long way from RV friendly 'shops

I am coming to the end of 'curing' the mistiness in our double glazed window units - I have learned a lot but next time might just ship the RV back to your side of the pond and let a shop do the work WhistlingWhistling

The coach is fitted with SEGI window units - who have departed this mortal planet

I am in need of a piece of window seal / channel filler / extrusion - the existing piece appears to have 'shrunk' with age and is no longer in keeping with the 'new look' windows according to SWMBO

I have trawled the internet, spoken to more installers, salvage yards, parts suppliers etc on both sides of the pond than I can remember

Some salvage yards have lots of windows - and are keen to sell me one or more, but I only need this piece of rubber extrusion - the shipping associated with a new window is close to what you guys pay for an RV !! EEK!EEK!- it is not an option

If anyone has a salvage yard "around the corner" / is due to visit one for any reason in the near future - and would be happy to make a face to face enquiry on my behalf

would you please contact me off forum in order that I might send you images / dimensions etc and liaise over the telephone in the hope of 'sorting' the problem, keeping the 'boss' happy Angel

Getting desperate from the UK

If you google window and door seals for restoring antique autos There
Is a company that will duplicate any weather or window seal you need
With just a sample of yours

I can submit a sample of the 'offending' extrusion and get someone over here to manufacture me 200 feet - but that is the shortest they will do because of the need to create / costs associated with the unique die

?? Anybody want the spare 160 feet ??

Just hoping someone who might be visiting a salvage yard can 'scrounge' / buy me a length of extrusion out of an old discarded window unit before I pursue this expensive alternative

SeGi glass is still alive and well. They and not real helpful but I bought a drivers window from them
last year. There e-mail is http://se-gi.com/glass.html. Which window do you need parts for? We met
a Allure owner from the UK at Country Coach in 2006 who toured the U.S. after purchase for a year
then shipped it home. I wonder if yours is the same coach, he towed a car and also had a motorcycle
mounted on the coach.
Good luck
