Taking a trip west from Tn. in July first stop in St. Louis. Next stop Rapid City S.D. Next stop Gillette for FMCA. Leave FMCA headed to Salt Lake City. Next tour canyon area of Utah. Then back to Tn. Would love any imput from those who have visited these areas on camping sites things to see and do and maybe things not to see and do. This will take 3 weeks approximately.

On the way to Rapid City, you could see a few signs for Wall Drug - a fun tourist trap for sure:)!

If you have the time, and overnight in the Bad Lands is usually rewarded by unforgettable sun rises.

Allow several days to explore the Spearfish, Black Hills, Custer State Park, Needles Scenic Route, The Presidents and Crazy Horse.

Devils Towers is unique, and gee, free pop corn and viewing of Close Encounters too,

With only three weeks, and part of that time at FMCA's Gillette get together. You might find yourself too rushed to do Bryce and Zion and Canyon Lands area justice. Maybe check out Cody and the great museum, while in Wyoming area. Salt Lake will be hot, but still beautiful, one of the nicest museums we've toured in a long time, is in SLC. Then perhaps skip the canyon areas, and work your way East again. Some nice Colorado State parks on the way East. And Tigers Run at Breckinridge is very popular for a reason. Denver area has many things to go see and visit, and it is on the way East. If time allows, drop down to Colorado Springs, AF Academy, Gardens of the Gods, Pikes Peak...

You have so many options, and hard to go wrong with any of them...

Best of luck to you, have fun,
Smitty

Correct about Colorado Springs and you could join the CCI group at the KOA for our Rally starting July 25th see your newsletter or contact me for details. Our son stationed there and an academy grad is doing the tour for us.

Gary, I sent you directly the following text early this AM, apparently you didn't get it -

Gary if you're passing through, east/west, on I-70 I recommend  370 Lakeside Park. It's a new county campground we often use. No big trees, great surfaces, small lake, quiet. Go here - https://www.stpetersmo.net/ rvpark.aspx

I-370 is an east/west beltline road, north of I-70, that avoids much of the city traffic, especially during rush hours. The campground is about 2 miles east of where I-70 and I-370 converge west of StL.
