12 years of no engine coolant or transmission fluid overheat

Yahoo Message Number: 115312
Hi Folks,
Some time ago, about 12 years, I installed two 15 inch electric radiator fans between the outer grill and the
first radiator which I think is the a/c condenser. Used one of the spare wires from under the right dash to the rear compartment that houses the circuit breakers and the fuel filters on my coach. Installed an on/off toggle switch just below the dash at my right knee which is connected to a power relay which applies voltage to the fans. When temperatures climb close to 200 deg F either on hills or in city driving, the two fans cool the temperatures below 190 degF and lower to below 170 deg F if left on long enough. On hills keeping the rpms above 2000 is necessary.

No fancy temperature sensors with automatic control. The Danfoss takes care of that under many conditions but not most. I use OAT coolant.

To monitor temperatures accurately, I long ago mounted a 17 inch laptop which is dedicated to detailed digital engine/transmission displays and a map driven by a GPS receiver. Windows XP works perfectly to size the two displays with the map taking up 2/3 of the right and the engine/transmission using the 1/3 on the left.
