Intellitec Issues

Yahoo Message Number: 115349
We are having intermittent problems with our house electrical system. The door step slide goes in without warning, or the toilet won't flush or the whole coach system goes dead. A reset on the Battery Disconnect button brings it all back to life until the next time.
It doesn't matter if we are on shore power or not. It seems to be occurring more and more frequently. I just wondered if anyone has had a similar problem?

Check the simple stuff First , like battery connections - clean and tight. Was some work recently done on your coach, maybe they missed something. Shore power check wire connections, electrial bay where generator, house battery and inverter converge. Remove the cover to your Automatic Transfer Switch look for damage. Use your senses, smell for electrical burning, look for loose, burnt or broken connections and listen for usual sounds. If you aren't comfortable around electricity higher someone who is. Mobile RV repair might be available in your area.
I had a wire come loose for my generator that was causing some strange things to happen.

Sincerely

We have an '08 Intrigue with the exact same problem!! We have not been able to find our problem either.i sure hope someone on here has an answer. We have an appointment on July 11 at an RV repair and hope they can figure it out. If you get it figured out please post it on here, and if we get ours fixed I will surely post it. Thanks

Same problem in our 07 Magna. Had Premier RV in Junction City perform some tests last summer. They found a bad brain/Control Module. Replaced unit (couple hundred dollars.) Problem went away for a solid 6-7 months. Recently began happening again. With seven control modules on board, I suppose it's possible another one has gone bad.

Had also talked with customer support https://www.intellitec.com/index.php/contact and they provided an arduous suggestion which involved (after finding each of the 7 modules) to disconnect one, wait to see if the problem occurs. No problem? Move on to the next module and repeat.

If you're on/near the Pacific Northwest, I would suggest Premier RV in Junction City. Kevin Waite has also suggested a colleague (I believe his colleague is the same Butch that others here have mentioned.)

Best of luck! Frustrating to have these gorgeous coaches and problems like these.

Problem "appears" to be fixed. We'll keep our fingers crossed. Our battery connections are clean and appeared to be tight but my husband tightened them down another quarter or half turn. So far so good.

Agree with Alex. Check all connections first. My ATS started to chatter and rapidly turn power on and off to the coach whenever I ran the genset. Foolishly, I decided it must be a bad relay in the ATS (I even called the ATS manufacturer and they confirmed my diagnosis). So I bought a new ATS and replaced it only to have the same problem. I then checked the 120V output connections at the genset and low and behold, the neutral wire was loose in the terminal block. Fixed that and my problem went away.

My fault for not checking at the genset before deciding what to repair/replace. Turns out the genset had been out of the coach 18 months before for a complete service. The tech who reinstalled the genset cross threaded the screw on the neutral contact and it worked loose over time.

I had a similar problem with 3-4 panels going dead. I did what Intelltec suggested but only with the dead panels. One by one, pull faceplate, unplug/replug, replace faceplate. Once I did all 4 we were fully operational, problem has not reoccured.

Hi friends. Just had a nice chat with Mark (customer tech support at Intellitec.). Explained my intermittent issues with interior lights/Intellitec pad occasionally coming on when parked here at the home shop (30a shore power.)

Last week had electrical inspection on my shop panel and 30a outlet. Everything came up roses. Issue must be isolated to coach.

Mark asked if there were any fluorescent lights in the coach. His words "fluorescent lights make Intellitec lights go nutty."

He said the majority of the time we have these light in/off problems it is due to electric noise which apparently fluorescents do. He said the issue isn't simply removing and fluorescent bulbs but rather it's the ballast that puts out the noise causing the Intellitec to "go nutty"

Remove the ballast controlled light in favor of non-fluorescent or simply remove the fuse controlling any fluorescent light.

Anyone have experience or run into this?

I also didn't think to ask about my recent change to four LED style sconces instead of the factory installed sconces (living room and bedroom). Wondering if those also put out noise or make for issues with Intellitec.

I have heard for some time about the ballast issue, had ours changed 2014. A majority of lights have been changed to LED's and have had a number of the ones in rear go Blinky. Going to take Lee's suggestion and start to unplug the modules. This is something that bugs the poop out of me. Don't thing that LED's have a noise component. Just had my eyeglass lens changed and they include a blue light filter.

By the way I also swapped my florescent lights for LEDs except the closet, which we rarely use.

My issue is more than Intellitec lights. It can be any number of items which are controlled at the Intellitec pad. Ie the fresh water drain valve can open, the rear bed ac fan can turn on, porch lights and bay door locks. So my issue has to be something more than a single pad/module. Sounding more like some loose wire/ ground etc that's been suggested before.

Have changed all lights to LED and they function fine with the Intellitec modules. Have replaced one brain which was probably affected by a leak in the roof which was falling onto the module. When they intalled solar they came thru the roof and the seal around the entry went bad.

After reading about unplugging and replugging all the Intellitec pads we went to our coach ('08 Intrigue) and did that. Now we wait again to see if the lights go off and the steps go in. It usually happens within 2 weeks. I think one time we actually made it 3 weeks and we were so excited thinking we had it fixed, but then it happed again. Something that has not happened before, but we found yesterday, is that the basement doors were all locked. This is a new problem and I fear our Intellitec problem is not solved. I tried to turn on the overhead light in the basement and it did not come on either. Will try to check that out more today. Any thoughts? Or maybe I am just vetting my frustrations! We have an appointment July 11 at a local RV repair shop but I am very nervous about them working on the Intellitec system, and Junction City is 8 hours away. Would love to get this figured out!!

My 07 Intrigue has a Trimark key with a black plastic top cover which opens all exterior doors, including the bays. Don't you have this key as well?

The LED light I am having issues with are the Blackhawk LB1.5 W-W-C, these replace the G4 Halogen Side pin. Used in the ceiling

Have you cleaned and tightened the battery house battery connections? This seemed to work for us.

Update on our Intellitec light problem...we tightened all battery cables, unplugged and replugged in all light switch panels...problem not solved. Now we have removed the fluorescent light fixture above the galley sink, keeping our fingers crossed this might be the missing link to our problem.

Is it all Intellitec panels / all lights & electronics for no reason. Ie the lights, the water pump, under bed ac fan etc. everything without rhyme or reason?

Snocat...when this happens all lights, basically everything goes out. The whole whole Coach system in the hall goes dark and nothing works except the fridge and microwave which are 120v

When the intellitect fails the water pump should still work and as I remember with our issue a light in the bedroom would still work. I was told this is part of the design for safety reasons? ? ? ? ?
