ice maker cycle

I have a 2006 Intrigue with a residential refrigerator. I am having a problem with winterizing the ice maker. I can't figure out how to cycle the ice maker. I have googled it and says to use a jumper wire between L and V on the ice maker control but I can't get that to work. I checked for power to the ice maker and it doesn't seem to have power to it. It would be quite a project to pull the refrigerator out to check for power. Anyone have an idea?

Drain your water out of the system then Hook your air compressor up to your outside water Inlet. Then turn on your refer/ice maker and let the air push the remainder of the water out of your ice maker. It will make ice until there is no more water in the line.

I believe that you have to put tape over the switch that activates the freezer light and also cuts power to the ice maker.
