How to adjust door on 1998 Allure?

OK, this is an update on my door wind-noise issue. Another member here noted that I should look to see if the door closer bracket interfered with the door frame and sure enough, it did. I made up a spacer to put under the bracket on the outside to move it out 1/8" and that curred that problem. However, when I went to adjust the door for a tighter closing, I can find no way to do that. The striker plate bolt holes are not slotted, they are fairly close tolerance to the bolts. Yet there is a sticker on the door lock mechanism telling you to adjust the door using the striker plate.

What am I missing here?

I haven't looked at it yet, but my thought was once you stopped the bracket from pulling the front edge out during closure the door would seal correctly.

Dave, not sure until our next trip in a week. But I wanted to be able to make a quick adjustment on the road if it is, because this noise is extremely annoying. I can't remember if it was you that alerted us to the bracket fix but if so, you were spot on. The bracket had actually dug right into the rubber molding above the door and also the metal lip above that.

It will never cease to amaze me the kind of defects that even "quality" motorhomes are plagued with. When this was new and still at the factory, I can't see how this could be missed as it would have made a quite distinctive sound when shutting the door.

Just a few comments on this "doornoise" problem: I have the same problem, i faxed the factory and they faxed me a "cure". totaly replace gaskets, shim closure bracket etc. well it didn't work, i spent all weekend trying but to no avail. in talking to many owners it appears to be a common problem and __NO ONE__ seems to be able to fix it; me, i went to KMART and bought a swim noodle (the type with ridges running longways) and work it between front awning pole and side of coach. this works great as long as there's no side wind. my problem is noise not an air leak and i hate to admit it but i should've used the "noodle" first. good luck!!!Larry
