Recall on Living Room Slide soffit fascia

Yahoo Message Number: 8989
I've been monitoring this forum since early 2003 and have not read of anyone having a problem with living room slide fascia's. I just got a recall notice and was wondering what's the down side of not having the work done. To date I have not had a problem with the soffit fascia but that could be because we've been mostly stationary for over a year.

Jose, Right before the CCI rally in Tucson, we know someone who traveling down the road and their fascia came crashing down. It scared them half to death and they were so thankful that their dog was no near it when it fell. If there is a recall, personally I would get it fixed before it falls off! Dale, there is a re-call (warranty bulletin) covering Allures and Intrigues starting in the 03 models. My dealer, Buddy Gregg-Dallas is aware of this and promise to have the kit available when I go there on April 5th. My Allure is the second or third one on the list.

Hi Walt, I only sent the response about the recall because when it fell (the fascia) it could have been bad if a person or a pet had been on the sofa. Glad to hear you are getting it fixed. Are you going to TN to the rally? Dale

Jose,

We are the ones who's fascia came crashing down while traveling to the Tucson rally. Please, all of you, do the recall. It should be an easy fix. We were fortunate not to have someone sitting on the sofa. As it was, our kitchen sink sprayer was destroyed and the fascia shattered on one end.
These fascias are held in place with about ten "friction" type clasps. The are the exact same ones the hold your cabinet doors closed.
While at the Tucson rally, Country Coach (Larry Sherwood) replaced our kitchen sprayer with a temporary one. A new faucet/sprayer assembly was waiting for us one we arrived home. The fascia was damaged beyond repair. CC is building a new one and is to be shipped to a service center near our home.
