Spare Keys

Yahoo Message Number: 9006
I have 10 keys (all alike) that I cannot figure out what they go to. On one side it is identified as "Southco" as a brand name. The other side has the key number of "CH 751". The only hint is that the large engine key is also "Southco" brand. Two other keys that I have not found a use for are identified as "J216K" with no information on the other side. These were all in the coach when I took possession.

Can anybody give me a clue???

Our J216K key opens our two fuel fill access doors. We have the older (and probably more secure) circular Southco locks on our storage bay doors, but I believe your CH751 keys are the ubiquitous same-number-fits-everyone-else's-storage-bay-door-locks keys.

Ree;

CH751 fits the locks that hold the engine access panel in the bedroom. We always keep these locked because they can pop up accidently when stepped on and they become a great toe stubber (or worse) in the middle of the night.

J216K fits your fuel access and electric cable access doors.
The one key that had me puzzled the longest time was the tiny round key marked AAAA on one side and C&K on the other. This key is used in the round hole that appears under the driver's elbow immediately behind and down from the transmission shift selector.
Country Coach told me that it is used only in an emergency when you need to reset the transmission selector.

Thanks, Bob & Dick, for the information. The CH751 does work on the engine access panel--all 10 of them ;). The J216K works on the electric cable but not the fuel. Interesting though---the one I have been using on the electric cable access is #019 and looks nothing like the J216K. Really secure!

Hi Ree,

We have an extraordinary # of seemingly extra keys for our '03 Magna, too. I found that the CH751 key unlocks the fresh water fill door that's located in the plumbing bay.
