Yes, I found exactly the same thing but made a 1/8" spacer flange and installed it under the bracket on the outside. The bolts are sufficiently long enough to allow this and that way I avoided grinding on the frame of the door.

Still a bit noisy over there, so this did not totally fix the problem. Has anyone installed a new door gasket set and gotten better results? I also understand that blocking the gap between the awning arm and the coach body really cuts down on the noise.

Dan, on our 03, we do not have the arm, but when driving into "quartering" winds from the left, it caused the door to pull our enough to create LOTS of wind noise. I got some sticky-back foam tape from Home Depot, and applied it on the closing gasket, across the top and half way down the side (striker side). It compresses the gasket a bit more, and when the door wants to pull out, due to the vacuum caused by the quartering wind, fills the gap. It is much quieter now. Big diff, small cost. (my kind of fix!)

I posted 2 pictures of the stickey-back foam tape, as I applied it on top of the original foam weather-seal on the door frame of the coach.

I picked it up at; where else? Home Depot it is:

MD Specialty

Marine & Automotive
Weatherstrip tape
1/4" thick, 3/4" wide

$2.69 (my kind of a fix, cheap)

We just got back from a 2,500 mile trip, and it made a world of difference in the noise, when in quartering winds.

Sorry if I am asking a stupid question but what keeps the double sided tape on? As I understand it the tape is making a seal between the door and the frame and overlapping the rubber seal that is there now. So, when you open the door what keeps the tape from pulling away with the door? If that happens I would think that it loses its strength very quickly. Mike 2000 Allure 98 CRV now hibernating at our new house in Mountain Center, CA.

I did about the same thing as Bill did, only I applied single-sided sticky 3/16 x 1/2" weather stripping to the jamb instead of the door. Same principal either way. You may be able to adjust the door to eliminate the wind noise. Loosen the six phillips screws at the door lock and slide the lock slightly towards the outside of the rig. Make sure not to get it too tight or it will be too hard to close. Actually the door should not be perfectly straight from top to bottom, but should be "bellied" slightly to the outside in the center. This helps keep the door tight top and bottom. Mine is straight, therefore adjusting did not stop the wind noise. The way to check and see if the weather stripping has a tight fit is to use a dollar bill and place it so when the door is closed, the bill is between the jamb and the door, crossing over the weather stripping. Then if the door/weather stripping is tight, the dollar bill will be difficult to pull out. If there is no friction on the bill, then the weather stripping is not making a tight enough fit and you need more/or replacement of the weather stripping. I usually check every six inches all the way around the door. Be sure to check the hinge side too. This method is also good for checking the refrigerator door gasket. Tape is available at Home Depot or any hardware store. Good luck!

Mike, look in the photos section, my album is named "Harris", that should explain it. It is sticky-backed, not double sided tape.
It just sticks on top of the seal that was there. The door closes against the foam.

I applied Bill's "fix" except I couldn't find 1/4 X 3/4 tape at Home Depot. They had 3/16 and 5/16 thicknesses so I opted for the latter. I just made a 200 mile trip and the wind noise is about gone. Thanks, Bill.

Has anyone found a solution for the wind noise from the driver's side window? CC's solution was to install the missing weep hole covers. No help on the noise level.

Doug, I've had some wind noise from the driver's side window on all three CC's I've owned. Sometimes an extra hard pull on the sliding window helps, but it doesn't eliminate the noise. I can't believe comeone at CC thought the weep hole covers eliminated the nioise!

I can't believe CC isn't having someone build a window that is aerodynamically designed. To start with that means no sharp edges or vertical bars that are not faired.
