Decorations

Would seem that I should know this, since I have been full-timing nearly 6 years, and had a couple of rigs prior to that--but, how do you hand pictures and such on the walls? I have never put up anything because I have not been comfortable putting nails in the walls. Someone suggested sticky backed Velcro, but I was afraid that it would damage the wall paper if it ever needed to be removed.

I have had great success using the velcro to put up pictures, decoratiions etc. And I have gently pulled it off when changing things out and have never had so much as a bubble or ripple.
Have also had good luck using those 3-M removeable hooks with no problems. I have used those for a swag flower arrangement over the towel bar in the bathroom and even with all the moisture in the air, it has not given up the ghost.

This is home - so just enjoy it.

We had heard of poor results with removing the velcro stuff, too, so have gone to the 3M various hooks with the tab and have had no problems with them at all on wood or wallpaper.

For pictures of the family I found I could print photos onto fabric with our regular printer, then have made wall hangings with the fabric. It's worked out great and started me on a whole new interest of quilting! All our family photos are now done that way and if they fall...they fall softly!

Jan, I have always used 3m command strips and use them with and without the hooks. Sometimes I put the strip(s) on the wall and the object right on the other side of the 3m strip. What kind of fabric do you use for printing photos? Sounds interesting! Candace Hollick 05 Affinity 6370

My wife uses a product called "Command" (from 3M, I think). They make several sizes and types of sticky backed hooks that hold items up to about 5 lbs. She uses them for pictures, wall hangings and towels. The neat thing about Command is that the sticky back can be easily removed from the wall by pulling on a small tab --- this stretches the sticky material and it comes off without leaving a mark on the wall. ACE hardware, Lowes, etc., all carry them in the "fastener" section.
