I have a Girard Automatic Awning- the Anemometer on the roof started make a noise - Factory said they didn't last long -- they now have a better build model (#98001-02)- which they sent at N/C- plus $75.00 to install- the only change you have to make from old to new model is setting the wind speed from 24 miles per hour to 12 miles per hour because the new Anemometer even tho its set at 12 miles per hour reads it at 24 miles per hour-

Interesting about the speed change. At the Tucson Rally in March, where I first heard about the new anemometer, I immediately ordered one, and installed it myself. Strange they never mentioned the speed change.

It is quiet. I previously would sometimes tape the old style down (both the original and a replacement) while on the road to avoid the noise.

I had to pay (about $45) for my replacement (they said because it was a style/feature change while under warranty)!

(The new unit is designed for continuous 60+ mph winds, whereas the older style was not designed for "homes" located in continuous 60 mph winds)
