Interesting...we had asked Schwab about it in JC and they recommended not to bother. They could do it, but said our tires, as they were, were fine.

Thanks, Jan. I was just wondering since I'll be there next month anyway.

I was told by a Les Schwab employee in J. C. their C.C. tire specialist that I should have the new tires siped. His reasons were they would run cooler, have less wear, and would have better traction on ice and wet roads.

Are you running Toyo tires or some other brand, Vaughn?

We were talking about Toyo's, however, it also included Michelin tires. I have seen so much discussion about tires I truely don't know which tire to purchase. My coach has Toyo's on it now and it drives great but I have friends who says the new toyo's arn't so good when it comes to driveability.

I wish I knew which tire is best for my coach.

Vaughn, I have posted my experiences with Toyo tires several times. I did not like it that the coach came with Toyos and I even tried to get Michelens put on before it left the factory but no such luck. After about 25,000 miles I was getting real weird tire wear on two tires so I had new Michelens put on the steer axle and then when the recall came about I made a deal to get four more Michelens to give all Michelens. The coach handles and rides superb- no more wondering from side to side and even wear on all six tires . BTW I had the coach alligned when I put the fist two on the front.
That's just my two cents worth.

Egon, Did You go up a size to the 275/80/22.5 when you put the michelins on or did you stay with 275/70/22.5. I would like to go up to the larger size tires but I am a little concerned that there is not enough room to keep the coach off the tire if I lost one of the rear airbags.

Hello Vaughn,

No I stayed with the 275/70/22.5 because I had gotten two 275/70's in '01 and decided to stay with the 70's. My coach does not have a slide so the weight was not a problem. Now don't tell me about the dissavantages of a no slide but this coach will probably be my last unless I win the lottery.
Also, my coach has not been back to the dealer or factory because of slide problems. We use our coach mainly for crisscrossing the US about a fast as an 18 wheeler. Have even beaten several from Texas to Florida and to California. Many times we are parked at Flying J and Walley World and at these places I would not feel good about putting the slide out.

Egon, There are many times that we don,t put our slide out if we are there for one night. The Coach has plenty of room for my Wife and I with the slide in if we are there for a short stay so I wouldn't say anything about your coach not having a slide.
