PROJECTION TV?

Yahoo Message Number: 10826
I would be interested to hear from anyone who owns or has used a projector connected to a lap top for use with movie DVD's.
I have seen these used with 'power point' for static picture presentations but never in a movie mode.
At $900 the projectors are not cheap but the potential flexibility of the system is very appealing.

Thanks,

Stopped installing systems six weeks ago. Using your lap top as a source is a good way to go, except if you want Dolby digital and DTS sound with all the new updates. Some cmputers will allow you to play foreign discs from other regions. Wal-mart sells a universal player for under $70.00 bucks, but the audio is limited. If you have a HD projector the computer route is the answer. TWI

When the company I worked for sold video/sound systems for custom installations in homes. I supervised their placement, programmed the projectors and sound gear, etc, etc, etc. I much preferred big commercial jobs. Theatres, stadiums, conference halls churches etc. There are a lot of choices out there and like the car business, we are stuck with their choice unless we know of an outstanding after market installer.
