2004 CLASS REUNION

Yahoo Message Number: 11046
Just back from our trip to the class reunion, well satisfied and ready for the next. This was our third class reunion and by far the best. Maybe familiarity with the surroundings and events helps but I really must give a lot of credit to the organizers for raising the 'bar' once again.
CC Service completed my three requests very efficiently. This year there were a number of technicians supplied by different Dealers in attendance in order to bolster the ranks of the CC techs. This seems like an excellent idea and I hope it continues. The imported techs were by necessity cross trained in many technical areas so in some cases could perform more then one of the service requests all during the same visit.
In our case Jeff, from Lazy Days Florida completed two on the first visit and identified the cause of the third which was outside his area of specialty. The problem was a malfunctioning Hurricane heater! ITR promptly looked at it and then declared it was a CC problem. Then CC came by on the next day and fixed the problem. I should add that ITR came back with the CC guy just to make sure everything was OK. (The problem was a pump under the drivers compartment that seized and caused a fuse to blow in the control panel.) CC installs the pumps not ITR and that is why it became a CC issue.
We did not buy a new coach (or one gently used) but is was tempting and if we had been there a little longer who knows what might have happened! Apparently 47 other people did put their money down and at least some hadn't planned it that way before arrival. Many were all cash deals. One coach owner in the group displayed a license plate surround that read, "Sorry Kids, it's all gone"..........
According to Jim Howard the Intrigue was the biggest seller during 2003/4 and one reason CC decided against changing the height and dash layout at this time, working on the principle that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". The new Allure 430 and 470 series will certainly challenge the Intrigue in the coming year and once people have got used to the higher profile will IMHO cause a change on the Intrigue.
MSRP figures are once again going higher. There certainly is a lot more in the new coaches compared to my 2000, part of which justifies the increase. I also have to remind myself that the MSRP on my stick built home has also increased dramatically over the same period and thought of in that perspective the increases seem more palatable.
For those going to Redmond, I hope you enjoy being one out of five thousand coaches and that your A/C and generator keep working!

Cheers, David
