Helpful advice for new coach owners.

Yahoo Message Number: 11988
Since I have been the beneficiary of some great advice, the following are some useful tips that might be helpful to others:
1. Next Exit, a book available that gives the names and locations of most all services available within a mile of any interstate exit.
Great for finding Wal-Marts and fuel.
2. Woodall RV park book with a large number of parks in the country.
3. Add a Filter that goes on hose between water faucet and coach.
Mine was loaded with sand etc the last time it was changed when pressure dropped in the coach when parked.
4. Change the water filter inside the coach, mine is reached through an access panel adjacent to the water tank filling area.
5. Purchase a Special electrical box that combines either 2 30amp circuits or a 30amp and something smaller into a 50 amp service available to the coach. My allure will not run one air conditioner and the other coach components when parked on a single 30amp service. Camping World is running a special at $58 as of yesterday.
6. If losing water from engine radiator, replace the cap with either a 15lb or 20lb new cap. Mine had a 7 pound cap, lost 2 gallons on a trip pulling 6% grades over 500 miles.
7. Water Heater electrical switch on the back side of heater. Access
is from a panel in adjacent compartment. If in off position, shore power will not heat water.

I hope the above is helpful to someone. John 2002 Allure

Regarding #7: It is a lot easier to turn the water heater on and off using the circuit breaker inside the coach than crawling underneath!

Regarding #7: I spent 4 weeks using propane before I found out the
previous owner had turned the switch off behind the heater. When he stored the coach for 3 months, someone told him it needed to be turned off. John
