Glen, could you please share what, who, or where is your source of information regarding the glass/windshield? Thanks, Dale Hollick 05 Affinity 6370

Hi Dale,

I just had my passenger side windshield replaced (AGAIN....3rd one, ROCKS) by Coach Glass in Elkhart, IN.
Cost was about $875, $650/glass and $225/labor.
It is a gasket-type design, remove gasket, remove old glass, install new glass, re-install gasket, you're done.
The Coach Glass lady said I should be glad I did not have the new Allure full glass design.

It is a flush mount, no gasket, has to be caulked in.
The glass alone costs around $1,200, plus very labor intensive install, double labor of one piece.
Hard to do correctly, so she says, big chance of cracking glass during install.

Reminds me of the new Allure curvy-dash. Looks great, but.....no place for the under dash cabinet where we keep all our books/maps/woodalls/keys/pencils/etc.
Also do not see the swing out tray that I use ALL the time, set my laptop up on mine, VMSPC and Streets2004/GPS real time while driving.
So, looks like you pay a big price for that cute new dash.
Same with flat-floor slide outs, you have to low-crawl under to get to storage bay.

Lenore and I are at odds now over how many slides on new coach.
I want two, she wants 4! I have to access the bays, she doesn't! Say hi to Candace

I called CC about a replacement windshield for my Intrigue and was told to contact Coach Glass in Oregon. During our discussion pertaining to cost of a replacement, I mentioned that CC was now installing one piece windshields and they said they have replaced two so far and it took all day to install each one @ $1,000 labor. They said they had told CC it was a bad design, but CC did not want to hear that. They continued to say they thought CC customers would have a difficult time finding shops willing to install one piece replacement windshields.

Gene, IMHO, IF it took two workers one day to make $500 each.....I'll bet you won't have any trouble finding folks to do this
