Ranking CC's

Yahoo Message Number: 12297
Would some kind soul please rank the CC line in order of value, and/or price for a newbie? Is there a particular model/year that stands out as an excellent value? (IMHO a 2002 Monaco would qualify in that coach line).

Thank you,
John K

Hi John

I can only speak for my 02 Allure but I think that the quality of CC has gone down since Bob Lee sold CC to National Holding Co. Our Allure had many problems, electrolysis on both slide rooms ? 2 weeks per room to fix. Leaking hydraulic hoses that power the slides in and out ? one full day 3 men to fix. (HWH hoses, not CC) Ride height valves failed in 2 years. Valves made by Neway/Haldex and they won't even answer my letters. However CC to their credit gave me new valves. Not including installation but CC had no obligation to give me anything this far out of warranty. The paint has an excessive chipping problem. Topcoat not bonded to base coat. Not resolved yet.

This having been said I have met folks with Monacos that make my problems look good. I would not consider anything that Monaco makes.
I realize you didn't ask about them but I wanted to add that as my opinion.

Good luck
Andy

Andy, thank you for your input. I've been lurking in a few forums and CC seems to be the coach of choice for many, ergo my query.
That said, my idea of looking at used vs new is twofold. One, by two years most problems have been solved. Two, the original owner has taken the majority of the 'depreciation hit' leaving a desirable coach for purchase. In my opinion, this would give me the most value for my dollar.

Thank you,

John K

---Hi Andy:

I too have a 2002 CC Allure that had most of the same problems.
The tech at CC told me the electrolysis on the slide trim was industry wide as all of the manf attached the trim piece with screws - and the different metal in the screw caused the electrolysis. Now, they don't use screws to attach the trim.

The HWH hoses were bad from HWH and shipped to the entire RV industry.
Certainly not a CC QC problem. CC and my dealer along with HWH did step up and replace the hoses and the interior wood pieces that were damaged.
The ride heaght valves had plastic in the part that failed. Again, CC QC shoould not be held responsible for that part. I again think that they have stepped up to assist people.

The problem with all rv's is that the mfg is assembling many components from many mfg's and any of these could fail.
