Digital Projection TV

Looking for opinions on this... is it really a desirable thing or a waste. We don't do DVDs just satellite. We will be looking at 2 coaches .. one with and one without but 10 minutes is no substitute for some good advise.

Also opinions on the heated tile floor... wife wants it so we will probably get it but do you really use it?

Well, I'll give you my opinions. We just returned from a six week trip (our first in our new Magna), so everything is fresh in my mind.

The heated tile floor: A must! This is the neatest thing ever.
When you get up on a cold morning, that warm floow on your feet is wonderful. I would want that on any coach.

The Projection TV:

First of all, when it is working - it is absolutely fantastic to watch DVD movies on. With the accent lighting on and the big screen with Bose Surround, it's really very much like sitting in a small movie theater. We love that. Just for watching satellite TV, though, you'll get a clearer picture out of the LCD TV. On the "other" side, though, it does present some problems. Our projection light bulb burned out in Tucson in the middle of a movie. We figure we had only put about 20 hours on that bulb! The book says they'll last for 1200-1500 hrs. A replacement bulb costs over $400.00!!!! CC service says they need to check on the fans to make sure adequate cooling is happening (on a $450,000 coach, you'd think they would have perfected all that before delivering it).
Also, the big screen retracts up into the ceiling. It has little arms that tuck up there and have felt pads to keed them from rattling. After 5500 miles on the lousy, bumpy roads of America (doesn't include Oregon's, which are great!), the little arms have worked their way down out of the ceiling and rattle like hell! Hopefully CC service can adjust them.

Anyway, that's my two-bits worth.

I didn't get it but after seeing it in my friends coaches...I wish I had. I wouldn't get the projection TV as it requires blackout shades in the daylight, I would get a 30-32" LCD TV & if the models you are looking at doesn't have it, get it installed by Davis Cabinets in Junction City.

GREATEST THING since sliced bread, the heated tile floors! One "middle of the night" trip to the bathroom will convince you! We find we have ours on almost all the time! DEFINITELY would never get a rig that didn't have them. The coach is much more pleasant with them, and frequently they are all the heat that's needed on a cold, damp day.

We're getting Davis Cabs. to put in a 32" LCD TV in the front of our rig to get rid of the "headbanger" TV that is there. We don't watch a lot of movies, either, but like the larger screen size and better resolution...and less in the way!

Cheers..

You won't believe how nice a heated floor can be. You will wake up in the middle of the night or first thing on a crisp fall morning and think your in heaven when you cross the tile floors with your bare feet. You'll learn to set the temp so you don't have to run the heat during moderate weather. And it cuts down on the diesel consumption. If I had to do it over again, I would have left out the carpet and had them wire the entry tiles, also. If you do satellite you will love the sport casts, Nascar, golf, MGM musicals, the Geographic channel, etc. And once you see hi-def over satellite; you will wish you didn't have to wear glasses. There will be no need to have prints made of photos, just plug in the camera and sit back and see a real show! Sounds exciting!!! It can be. TWI Intrigue 11731
