I have owned two Intrigues and now own an Allure. Initially, there was a vast difference in appearance and features between the two, which is why I opted for Intrigues in '97 and '00. My 03 Allure is equal in almost all respects to the 03 Intrigue. In fact, there was a new Intrigue sitting next to the Allure I ended up buying which was priced about $ 45,000 higher. When I asked to be shown the difference, all they could come up with was a 400hp engine vs. 370 in the allure ( both have identical max. torque ), a Silverleaf in the Intrigue ( I've always thought that is an expensive toy---this will bring some reactions),two bay doors opened vertically in the Intrigue ( a feature I like ) but this would disappear in a three slide coach, a few minor interior appearance features, and that was it for about $ 45,000. I swallowed my pride and stepped "down" to the Allure and have been extremely happy with the decision.
Mine is an early 03 Allure and it may well be that there are more differences in the later models, but make them show you where the additional money is going.

You will find the Intrigue has usually, one or two steps up in engine, transmission, available, bay doors are fiberglass with electric door locks vs. Aluminum, 2003,4 had a 42' model, three airs, higher quality sofas, chairs, carpet, thicker padding, heated floors, hydonic heating, better backup display, full body paint completely buffed and solid 3/4" wood cabinetry throughout vs. just the front panels and doors, electric window blinds, upgraded fixtures, brighter lighting, aluminum wheels standard, more choices of fabrics, colors and patterns. Plus if you ordered a coach, they are more apt to make changes for you and some additions. With 2005 that's all out the window because the Allure is new from the bottom up and the Intrigue is a makeover, though quite a nice one. Wait for the 2006 Intrigue, it will be interesting to see the most popular model with the latest available technology etc. There is more but all the literature and specs are in my coach and I am home for the moment.

The one thing I have yet to figure out is why, thru the 2003 model year, Country Coach didnt upgrade the rear tailights on the allure.
The allure had gone "upscale" in various aspects including price, yet it didnt have the best of tailights. I had a 98 intrigue and then a 2000 allure and the one thing that concerned me was the tailights, no redundancy. From its inception it was relegated to just one "row" of lights.

Allure 1 row of tail lights
Intrigue 2 rows of tail lights
Magna 3 rows of tail lights

The price went up but the number of rows of tail lights stayed the same.

Thanks, Bob..

My 03 Allure has most of the features listed in cmarshall's post. One notable exception is the aluminum bay doors. After having two Intrigues with fiberglass doors I am very happy with aluminum. When you close one it sounds like a car door--you know it's closed. I had trouble with the fiberglass ones staying lined up. My coach has full body paint with clear-coat ( the early Allures didn't) and the tranny is identical to the Intrigue. I don't have electric curtains, but all things considered I didn't find the Intrigue worth the additional money, but as they say "different strokes for different folks."
