John & Lynnette, Larry, Thanks for the info on Direct TV. With all the Dishes I see in parks one would think Direct would have a ready answer for RV folks.

If I understand what you are saying Larry, once you have Direct change you to east and west coast that is going to be what you have at your house as well as the Coach.

Thanks again, Larry

We have had DirecTV since early 1998. The first few years were really nice - we received network stations from both the east and west coasts including the national feed of PBS. In 1999 we bought a house in Las Vegas - we put a receiver in there and a receiver in our coach and were paying for both receivers - this worked fine until legislation was passed to protect the local network TV stations - our service for the networks were cut off - I complained to DirecTV and soon was able to get a waiver for the receiver in the motor home - but I also saved some money since they told me I would only need to pay $5 for the second receiver - and they also turned the receiver on in the house so I received both east and west coast networks (except for PBS). We sold our house in Las Vegas last year so now we have one receiver in storage and one in our coach where we receive east and west coast network stations. We just use the one receiver while we are in process of building a new storage house for our junk.
I have had numerous conversations with DirecTV about the ability to receive the national feed of PBS. PBS sent me a favorable response. I finally sent a letter to DirecTV complaining about not receiving PBS with a copy to the President and CEO - a Mr. Chase Carey. After several months of no response I sent a letter to the FCC with copies of my letter to DirecTV - and I stated also that I had sent a copy of my complaint to Mr. Carey - so I copied his picture from the Web site and pasted his picture into the letter of complaint and sent copies of my complaint to DirecTV and again to Mr. Chase Carey.
Yesterday I finally got a call from DirecTV. They said since my billing address is Scottsdale, AZ, PBS service there is available. I said do you understand I don't get the service where I am billed at - I get your service in Boondock USA. The call came in on my cell phone as I was going down I-15 - so I asked if I have a billing address of Meadow Utah would you provide PBS service? The response was yes if it had a zip code that did not receive PBS service. I told him that is where I was as we were talking - the cell phone service is not that great let alone a local PBS station - the place is almost as famous as Nothing AZ - and there is nothing in Nothing except an Allmart - but no local PBS station. As explained to me - if your billing address is able to get a local PBS station they won't turn it on - doesn't make any sense to me - maybe I'll just have them send the bill to Nothing and see if I get service.
In the mean time I am content to get both the east and west coast network stations - we watch both - on 9-11 we were on the Oregon coast and watch the east coast network stations all day long - we also have the option of watching something early or late if we want to. If anyone wants to see my letters of complaint to the FCC let me know.

CHEERS - Clint
