DIY Hurrican intake air filter

Hello

In the photo section, I saw a picture of an air filter for the air intake side of the Hurricane furnace. It was black and looked about 4 or 5 inches in diameter. Looks like a DIY project that I would like to do. Does anyone know the source of this air filter. Seems like it would protect the system much better. I still get dust inside my compartment with the vent closed. Might try sealing it up better, but also like the extra protection of the air filter. Not sure what kind of negative pressure this would induce inside the furnace, but it must be working for someone. Thanks for any help.

Larry, the older Hurricanes came with a paper cartridge type air filter that sat on top of that black pipe. Hurricane then decided it was over-kill and recommended taking it off.

Thanks Walt

I guess if Hurricane thought it was "overkill" I won't worry about it.
