I am wondering about the Silverleaf and am presently under the impression that it will not display boost pressure, fuel pressure or EGT. Can anyone verify this? I looked at their website, but the availability of these features were not readily apparent. Thanks.

Larry,

Just remember, it won't give you oil pressure on the ISL, all you get is a constant 55 lbs.

Larry: Silverleaf will read data according to the programming of the engine. When I installed mine a couple of years ago, I was missing an engine oil temperature reading so I called them. I have transmission temperature but not oil temperature reading. I also receive torque, horsepower, etc.
They advised me that their equipment would display whatever data was available. The 99 model Cummins 350 was not programmed to send oil temperature readings according to them.
Notwithstanding any missing codes, the accurate readings of cooling temperature and the ability to diagnose problems without going into a service center are well worth it IMHO.

I use the VMSpc version. While the VMS system has the capability to read the data you asked about, it is limited by what the ECM is programmed to do and what sensors are on your coach. VMS can only read what the ECM sends it. If you have an electronic engine and transmission, I highly recommend the VMS. It provides a wealth of data and is far more accurate than many of the analog gauges that are add-ons.

What information is available on the '99 ISC engines. Thinking about getting the cable if enough info is available. Also, anyone that has hooked up the cable, where is it located on '99 coaches?

Thanks in advance,

Egon

Thanks to all for the information. I guess I need to get a hold of CC to find out what data my engine will broadcast.

Egon: I have a 99 Intrigue 350 ISC. I installed my own Silverleaf. It displays everything but engine oil temperature.
The year of our engines did not provide a plug-in cable, but the splicing is simple. Just two wires as I recall.
Finding the cable is a bit tricky. You must remove the upper dash board cover and reach down in front of the little firewall between your feet and the front panel. I found my cable wrapped up with a wire tie holding a loop. It was an oblong plug with 6 or 8 pins. The plug is illustrated in the Silverleaf instruction sheet.
There are two data wires, plus and minus (+ and -) These are to be spliced into the Silverleaf wires. Be sure to use a line that is not controlled by a rheostat when hooking up the dash lights. Mine went bonkers so I called Silverleaf. They immediately knew that I did wrong. Wire it directly off from the keyed fuse block under the dash.
Silverleaf is a great FRED (Frigging-ridiculous-electronic-device) I love it. Accurate data including water temp, Horsepower, Torque, MPG, etc.

Hello,

We're new to your forum gaining a lot of good info. on the CC.
We have a 42' '05 Allure waiting for us at the dealer. As soon as we can get back to our winter home and this SOB unpacked, we're headed to pick up the new one and enter into a whole new adventure with a different brand.

We have the Silverleaf PC version on our SOB. Really like it.
Their web site is: www.simply-smarter.com They have units with their own monitor and one that is less pricey for your PC.
