HWH Leveling Question

Yahoo Message Number: 14866
Once you've leveled your coach with the HWH Computer Leveling system, how often does it adjust the level? Ours has been adjusting itself about evey hour or so this evening. The last month in Tucson it hardly did any adjustments at all. Since this is our first coach, we don't have much experience with this and wondered what is normal. Thanks.

Bob,

If you have run out of auxillary air, the 12v pump just doesn't have enough volume to do the job by itself. Start the Coach and let air build up until you hear the dryer pop off, then re-level. Before you shut the engine off, pump the brakes to get your air below 90 psi and then let it build back up until you hear the dryer pop again.
You now have full brake tanks and auxillary. The HWH will easily keep you level now. When you originally leveled and shut down, your aux tank was probably low on air or the compressor was running while you shut down. I never shut down until the compressor has finished.

All of this is providing you don't have any leaks...

Once we've leveled we shut it off. From what we understand the "brain" will 'wake up' every hour or so and will relevel according to what it "sees" then. If you've been walking around, having folks come in and out, etc. that can make it want to adjust itself. No need to have it keep doing that, so just shut it off.

Thanks for the replies. We shut the leveling system off yesterday and the coach hasn't changed at all. The first month we were parked the system releveled about once per day, it would release air from the right front in the morning (it was in the sun) and then add air in the afternoon after it cooled. Here it was exhausting air from the front about every two hours and then immediately pumping the front back up. It was really weird.

Bob and Gloria,

When you say it "Released" air, did it make a very noticable noise during the release? Several weeks ago while in Quartzsite, AZ, we returned to our rig and there was a very noticible release of air but after that everything seemed normal! First time I ever heard that! Thanks,

The release is very noticable, ie a strong blast of compressed air, like when you set the parking brake only longer. You could actually see the coach settle and then rise back up after the compressor came on.

Great, That's exactly what it sounded like! Never heard it do that before so I was a bit worried! Thanks!

We are interested in replacing our couch with one in leather and our standare recliner with a euro recliner. Does anyone know of a company in Northern California that can handle this? Dale Loop

We upgraded our standard recliner (in a previous coach) with a euro chair from Gotschalks. Bought it in Scotts Valley, CA. They also had matching couches, too. It was a pretty easy project.

Hope this helps,

I took the euro recliner out and put in one that costs about 1/3 as much but is way more comfortable. The coach is in Texas and I am in Mexico so I cannot get you the brand name. It is about the same size as the euro. It was in this house when I bought it--and I put it in the coach and the euro in the house. If you are interested, drop me a note and I can get it for you in a few days. I will be going back to Texas next week.

How did you get the old recliner out and the new one in? Did they fit through the doorway?

Getting the old out and the new in was fun... we removed the escape window (which came out pretty easy) and we had plenty of room. We protected the furniture with blankets so that we didn't mar any surfaces and the window worked with room to spare. A bit heavy, but Jean and I made the move without too much problem.... just slow and careful.

We purchased a new recliner from a company in Eugene, Or called Scan Design. The chair we bought is a Laffer brand and we love it. It was cheaper than a euro chair, is full leather and the best thing is that the foot stool is a pop out from under the chair seat. We really like it because we do not have a footstool that is constantly in the way. The chair comes in different colors, (we have black) is super comfortable, fits both men and women, is high backed with a head rest, and costs around $1000.00 give or take a few dollars. If you go online to www.scandesign.com you can get some infomation. on the home page go to "livingZ" and then "recliners" and then the chair is # 5 of 7, shown in a brownish gold color. At Scan Design we have found the best prices on Laffer and the euro type chairs of anywhere. They are less expensive that Countryside or the other places we have seen the euro type recliners. It is so nice to have a footstool but not have it in the way!

Happy shopping,

Whenever we've purchased recliners for our house, the delivery folks simply disassembled the chair and brought it into the house in two pieces and reassembled it in place. Very easy to do.

Also, La-Z-Boy makes line of recliners that are designed to sit against a wall and still recline without being moved. These come apart into two pieces by simply pushing 2 levers. The parts go right in the MH door and snap back together.
