Towing a Jeep Wrangler

Help me out guys. I have a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I towed it with my Allegro Bus and had no problems without a brake buddy system.
Do you guys think I need a supplemental brake system for an Affinity.
My new 2006 Affinity is due off the production line in about 2 to 3 weeks. Thanks for your help.

You need the breakaway feature. I have 6550 coming and will transfer the US Gear brake system from my 6382. It works great no hassle just plug it in and go.

John, I tow a 2002 Jeep Liberty with an Inspire. We towed it for a while without a brake and then opted for the MGA brake system. I can tell you that In a panic or near panic situation it is extremely valuable. Also on long steep down hills. I am very glad I installed it even though I didn't think I really needed it.....Turns out I did need it.

Todd, the "need" for a break system on a toad is greater with a lower weight ratio difference between main/towed vehicle. I suspect the weight ratio between your Allegro and the wranger is about 8:1, while with the Affinity, it may be 15:1. Thus you needed it more with the Allegro.

But even is the need is lowered, there are now states and counties (Canada) that require it.

It is one of those safety features that you hope you never need. I wouldn't be without it though.
