New Trailer Life CD ...

Yahoo Message Number: 16291
I am having no luck with the new Trailer Life CD ...
Appears not compatible with Win2000 SP4 if you can imagine that. Get two error message during install. Seemed to work for awhile, but then locked up. Could not uninstall ... locked up again.

Fresh install of Win2000 on my laptop, and fresh install of TL2005.
Same issue.

TL2004 (or whatever the previous version is) works fine, and I am going to revert to that.

Wish this had happened before paying for it ... it was a trial but I paid right away anyway. Very handy for planning trips, in conjunction with the "Big Rig" book.

Anyone else been here, done this ????

Thanks,

John and Terry

Just saw your post. You can send your CD back for a complete refund from Trailer Life. I did. I was very unhappy with the new program.
Takes up too much space and it does not have a good route planner with dates like the old style. I reverted to 04 as well. Look on the internet email or call them and they will, give you an address if you don't have it. It is mon ey back guaranteed. Include a comment that you had problems with it. I just wish they would update the old style CD and make it an option ot purchase.

Thanks ...

I read over on rv.net that others are having win2000 troubs also.
Pretty shoddy software developement.
I have installed on my computer at work (XP Pro) and it appears to work fine, and gone back to the previous verion on my laptop. Its not that great either (lots of errors) but better than nothing.
I also use Street Atlas 5 and Streets and Trips but have not looked for campgrounds on either one.

I wonder when Woodalls will come out with a CD ... maybe they have.

John,

I wouldn't wait too long for the Woodall's version. Since Affinity Group owns both companies it would just be a different label.
