Wondered if anyone has a recommendation for a 2-3 day stay in the Grant

Pass area. Early June.. Also.. any "have to see" sights as this is our

first time to Oregon?

We have a 40ft quad...

Thanks,

Russ and Jean

Jack's Landing RV Resort. Close to downtown, big rig spots, clean, modern, and friendly. Easy on and off the interstate. Just study the streets as the main streets in and out of town are one way. A must do trip is the Jet Mail boat tour. There are several packages available. I recommend the longest ride down the river. Also, if you are on the coast you can see the other side of the river from Gold Beach. They have tours from there too. Grants Pass is a great stop over.

Well, do I ever have recommendations! You won't be too far from Crater Lake, so I'd recommend that, for sure (more than awesome!).
When you leave Grant's Pass, take Hwy 199 over to Crescent City, CA, then Hwy 101 north up the entire Oregon Coast (spectacular!). As said, stop at Gold Beach to take the Mail Boat Trip up the Rogue River, then continue on up to Astoria, east to Portland (stay for a few days to take in the sights and eats - stay at Pheasant Ridge RV Resort 15 mi. south of Portland in Wilsonville - about a mi. from my house). If you'd like to see where your coach was born, take a "toad" day trip 90 mi. south to Junction City (near Eugene). CC has a pretty impressive manufacturing facility that you can tour. After that, then head out the Columbia River Gorge (I-84)to The Dalles. The first 30-40 mi. of the Gorge out of Portland is "World Class Scenery!" Head south, over to the Bend Area for a few days of sightseeing and/or stream-lake fishing. Stay in Bend at the Crown Villa RV Resort. Do all this, and that'll all be about the best of it. Oregon is a great state to visit - you'll like it! E-mail me if you need anything while in the Portland Area and I'll help you find it (glen@...).

A MUST place to eat in Grants Pass is THE YANKEE POT ROAST at 720 NW 6th St., 541-476-0550, open Wed - Sun, about 1.3 miles south on 6th St from Jack's Landing RV Park. This is a historical home, restored in fine detail, that serves up big, delicious plates of American classics such as pot roast, meat loaf, and halibut with mashed potatoes, fresh biscuits and good local wines. It's modestly priced so it is crowded around dinner time with locals. Don't miss this place downtown.

When you arrive, they start baking your biscuits for each member of your party in an old oven in the lobby - world famous for its biscuits too.
