Draining the fresh water tank

What is the easiest way to drain the fresh water tank ?? I would think there is an easier way than running the water through a tap into the gray tank and then out.

I have not found any mention of this in the manuals.

Open the values in the water pump area and turn on the water pump. That is the fastest way to get the tank emptied.

I love these intuitive answers. Well I read between the lines and looked around behind the water pump panel. I found 3 different valves.
One looked to come directly off the fresh water tank. Opened it. It's now draining.

I would like to vent a little. I'm new to this RV'ing world. My wife and I bought this coach to see if we would enjoy the lifestyle / adventure before we sink any more money into another coach. An experiment if you will, to see what we liked / want in a coach.
I have recently asked two simple questions. I have received some thoughtful/helpful answers. I have also received several smarta**/condescending answers (or so they seemed).
I have a very extensive background in the class 8 truck field. There are several systems on these coaches I have probably forgotten more about than most of you will ever know. If a question is asked and I can be of help I will. No matter how simple the question. I will not belittle or ridicule the person asking the question.
Don't worry about me. My feelings are not hurt. I was called everything and then some as a \"big city\" cop. I have very think skin.
However it does seem counter productive to fostering a friendly group of people with smarta**/condescending answers.
We can only read your written words. We don't have the luxury of seeing your body language and listening to your tone of voice. We have no way to know if your just kidding or being serious.
Enough said.

I noted both responses I think you are referring to, questions on the A/C last week, and fresh water drain today. Your observation is right on, it's too bad there are a few out there like that, their attitude discourages open questions and honest discourse. Fortunately they are the minority.

Welcome to this world. I have discovered over the years that of 100 messages about 5 or so have enough valid information to keep me subscribed. The rest are intuitive guesses or smarta**/condescending answers.

Michael, I'm sorry you experienced some smart*** answers, but I have been on this board for several years and have seen very few of these. Herb has a way of weeding out people who don't have CC owners' best interests at heart.

Sorry if some of my answers offended you but I get affended when people do not read their manuals and drive these machines like they are their father's diesel. For example at a KOA Campground in Key West, a Motorcoach owner let his coach idle next to the pool and my chair for an hour while checking into the campground. When we asked him to turn off his engine he said "this is a diesel, you let it run, I have been driving trucks forever and thats the way you do it. Well that night I put zerox copies of his engine manual under his windshield, he obiously had never read the book, this is not your father's diesel.

I have read the group questions and responses for many months and have not found any that in my opinion were either 'smarta**or condescending' but I will say that this is the first that I find downright disturbing. George, there is no way that I wish to have my responses weighed against your 5% test, particularly since you failed to present the criteria for expert judgements. As for intuitive quesses, over the millenia they have taken mankind out of the caves and put it into outer space. I for one would not want to see them put down. They stimulate thought even if many are not 100% accurate. This is a user group, not a technical encyclopedia, something that even CC often fails to be.
Thanks for reading this post. Hopefully George represents a minority opinion, but it only takes one out there to make me feel very uncomfortable.

Speaking of confused - there isn't any KOA in Key West. Maybe you meant Sugerloaf Key.

BTW, I had also checked my manual (I am a big supporter of RTFM myself - cut and paste the tinyurl for RTFM explanation - http://tinyurl.com/qolv ) and it made no mention of the tank drain that I could find. As someone else suggested, I discovered that opening the three valves and turning on the pump is a whole lot faster.

I read and re-read my manual and found no mention of the valves either.  I found them by searching for them, as I figured there had to be some way to drain the tanks.  Leaving the pump on is a great idea, I had not thought of that.

I don't have my manuals with me, but I believe the drains are discussed in the winterization process.
