Routing info Reno-Bend with stopover near Crater Lake

Need info on what route 139 from Susanville to Klamath Falls is like for our 40' CC towing a Jeep for next week. Enroute to Bend, OR as final destination, but are considering a stopover to Jeep to Crater Lake as a one-day stopover on the way. We've been there before, but would like to see it with snow on it which it looks like there still is.

Any other route suggestions from the Reno-Bend portion would be appreciated...as well as campgrounds to suggest. We'll be at the Bordertown RV north of Reno on the first leg of this route. Need to be in Bend by Tuesday (next.)
